You should cherish your loved ones every day, but Valentine’s Day is a good day to bring people together to spread the love to everyone (and a good excuse to enjoy some chocolates of course!).

Love-Day-Collage-2

This is exactly what our Community Connectors had in mind when they organized the first ever “Love Day Pop-up Event” last year. Everyone was welcome to join in and greet commuters with love songs and treats at the Commercial/Broadway skytrain station in Vancouver. We sang many love songs (old and new), gave out love grams with messages to warm up everyone’s hearts and also handed out chocolate and other yummy goodies. One of the Connectors also brought along her cute puppy – that’s always a crowd pleaser!

Spotlight Jake, our Arts Correspondent Extraordinaire, was there to capture the event on film. Check it out!

There’s also lots of Valentine’s Day events happening around town.  The Stage Door gang is holding their annual Valentine’s Dance on Friday, February 13 at 6:30pm at Heritage Hall in Vancouver.  Get in the spirit by showing up in something red!
