Musical Evening with Christa Couture and Sandy Scofield

April 9, 2016 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

Join us for an evening music and song from two incredibly talented women who live with a disability.

Christa Couture is performing in support of her latest release, Long Time Leaving. Christa offers a truly unique take on the topic thanks in part to a long and complex relationship with grief that’s given her rare insight into its nuances. It’s a mostly upbeat album filled with sweet soaring hooks, whimsical melodies, clever word-play and Christa’s trademark sweet, quirky vocals. Watch Christa by clicking HERE.

Sandy Scofield is a multi-award winning composer, musician and singer. A Métis from the Saulteaux and Cree Nations, she hails from four generations of fiddlers, singers and musicians. Among her four recordings to date, she has won five Canadian Aboriginal Music Awards, a Canadian Folk Music Award, an Indian Summer Music Award (U.S.A.), a Western Canadian Music Award and received three consecutive Juno nominations. Sandy’s music has been described as “a high-level synthesis of jazz, blues, rock and pop” with First Nations traditions. “Her music is original, refined and intelligent.” Watch Sandy by clicking HERE.
