On Thursday, June 4th, we held an Open House and Hiring Fair in Maple Ridge. We were looking for Day Support and Residential Care Workers around the Maple Ridge area and it provides a great opportunity for us to meet a large number of potential applicants in a short period of time.

We had a great turnout of 17 applicants who were warmly greeted by our staff teams and persons served. To get a taste of what we do at posAbilities, we brought in some beautiful artwork from Alternative Creations Studio and had some of our YouTube videos playing in the background. But the highlight of the event was John’s ASL class! John is one of our persons served who kept everyone entertained as they waited by teaching them some sign language! He had an absolute blast and his presence got everyone in the room smiling.

We also had a variety of staff on hand who were available to discuss career options
for those who were interested in pursuing support work as a career and who were curious about our organization, the work we do, as well as the community living sector.  We would like to thank all potential candidates for coming out and meeting with us, as well as our staff teams and persons served for making this event a great success!

Even if you missed our hiring hair, we are always looking for individuals to join our team! We look for team members who are interested in contributing their education, experience, gifts and passions to enrich the lives of the persons whom we serve and the communities they live in. We seek candidates with a background in supporting people with developmental disabilities, health care, mental health or addictions, and who enjoy challenging and life changing work. We also seek individuals who are innovative and thrive on advancing the community living movement.

We have openings in several of our programs throughout communities in the Greater Vancouver area.  We are currently looking to fill the following positions: Behaviour Consultant, Community Support Worker, Director of Community Development and Social Networks, Employment Specialist, Shared Living Coordinator and Shared Living Providers (contractual).
